My Blue Plate Special

First off.....
did you notice anything new?  A new look maybe!  YEAH for me!  I got a blog makeover and I LOVE IT!  Thanks Jen at The Art of Living Design for this wonderful new look!  You are awesome!  Check her out by using the button on the right!

Second thing.....
Every Friday, one of the blogs I follow does a Blue Plate Special ...you know a meat + 3 veggies.  It is a time to share one thing that you have learned or that is on your mind from the week (that is your meat) and your 3 favorite pictures of the week (your 3) so I thought I would join in the fun!  So here is my first

Blue Plate Special

The thing on my mind most this week is friends.
You know your real friends.  The ones you have known literally all of your life.  You may not talk to them in forever and when you do it is only through Face Book or email but you know they are there.

Then there are friends that you meet along life's journey and you become close to them.  You stay in contact with them either through work, church, or just life.    These are the people you see and talk to on a regular basis and you are lucky enough to count them as friends.

Then there are your "friends".   Some people really don't know these kind of friends exist.  Your friends that are in your life by happenstance (or really by God's touch).  People that you would have never met or know unless some other force was in play.  You know your child's school teacher, or the girl that writes the cute blog you like...but they are your friends and you develop a relationship with them along life's highway.

I know God put everyone in my life for a reason and I am so thankful for all of my friends that I have in my life.  I am so blessed!  I will be doing in depth blog post about each of these groups of friends next week so check back ya' hear!  I want you to see my awesome friends and who knows, you just may be featured in one category or another!

Now my +3
These are not new pictures taken this week but they are three of my all time favorites so I am gonna share them.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Jake.  He was about 4 months old and I love this hat!

Jake was born by c-section and we were not able to be in the room.  One of the surgery techs brought this picture out to us.  This was the first glimpse we got of our little miracle!  I still love it!  I love the wonder in his eyes....my heart wants to think he knew he was looking for his Mommie!

This just proves to me that God is AWESOME and knew from the very beginning where Jake would find his family.  This is my cousin Benji and his little boy Ben.  Look at those eyes!  The are identical to Jake's.  Everyone always asks if Benji's kids and Jake are brother and sisters.  People always remark about how much Jake looks like a McCrory.  I love it!  Even though there is no genetic link there is a LOVE link and God knew where to put this little boy....and I am beyond thankful!
So that is my Friday Blue Plate Special for this week.  Go here to check out other specials for the week...

And one last thing...
please pray for my friend McCall and her family.  Especially Libby.  Libby has eczema..not your normal kind that gets better with a few simply lifestyle changes...it is VERY severe.  They had a doctors appointment with a specialist yesterday and the news was not promising.  They are resorting to selling their house and getting rid of family pets.
Read all about it and fall in love with McCall and her babies here

  1. Thank you For linking up with me. I have been nervous about starting something myself at Changing Lanes...what a blessing when I meet people like you through the process. :). Your adoption touches my heart and pulls my strings when you mention the many times crying to the Lord for a baby and having to wait for his plan. We tried for many years to conceive and went through EVERYTHING only for heartbreak after heartbreak. Maybe reading your words will give me the push to begin a series of posts I have considered before ... How we got where we are today- the struggles and the overwhelming joy. I know their are those going through their journey now that might be helped.

    Link up next week!
