My Blue Plate Special - April 26

So I missed it on Friday but I love doing a Blue Plate Speical so I am gonna catch up today!

First of all My Meat...
What I am thankful for this week is modern medicine and Pediatrics East.  Jake just out of the blue started running a very high fever Wednesday at Mrs. Candace's.  I mean very high...like 104 when we got to the doctors office after taking Motrin.  Of course, Jake always has emergencies on Wednesday and that is Dr. Davis' (Jake's regular peditrician) off day.  We saw Dr. Hussain this trip and we LOVED her!  She (and her staff) was awesome!  She worked and worked with Jake and his never ending fever.  After several hours (like seriously 5 hours) we were able to come home with medicine to give every 3 hours and breathing treatments to give every 4 hours.  More test at the hospital Thursday ruled out pneumonia praise the Lord!  Within 24 hours Jake was back to his normal self!  Just a really bad virus and came and left very quickly!  But I started thinking, modern medicine is wonderful!  Jake got better really fast and a more serious illness was ruled out in a short period of time make this over protective, worrying Mommie a happy camper!

Now my +3
My 3 favorite pictures of the week

This is my Mom, Jake's ShuShu (don't ask), at the ball field in Oxford.  He ran away from her and she had to go catch him.  I LOVE this picture because of the priceless looks on both of their faces.  I have seen that look from my Mom hundreds of times in my lifetime (I still see it more than I would like).  That is her "I have had it with you and you are in BIG trouble" look.  I guess I am just glad someone else gets it every now and then.  And Jake, that is his "I didn't get my way and I am gonna make you feel sorry for me" look.
Hilarious I think!

Jeff and Jake at the BottleTree Bakery in Oxford.  Jeff is showing Jake the baby (or as Jake calls them bay) that just came in the door.  They just look so cute and it is a sweet non-posed picture of my Dude and Little Dude!  I love it!

Jake and his friend Easton.
I love the fact that he is 18 months old and has friends.  Little boys that prayerfully he will grow up with and be friends with for a lifetime.  How cute are they?  I wonder what they are talking about?  Or do I want to know?  Probably not....just after this picture was taken they overpowered a little girl who just happened to be about 4 years old and tried to take her sidewalk chalk.  Easton was the hit man...he ran up to her a tackled her and Jake was the clean up man...he ran around behind her and tried to grab the chalk.  These two are a mess!  I can't wait to see them grow and become little men!  I am praying many years of baseball and friendship are in store for these two!  And I am sure that Tobie and I will see each other plenty of times in the principles office.  LOL
